Leven Ashby Knows Oyster Bay!
Leven Ashby identified the mystery picture in the Enterprise Pilot of Aug. 26 by email, [the picture was on the Internet for Aug. 27]. Leven said, “Over the last couple of months, there were two or three times when I became hesitant and didn’t go with my gut. I would have been correct in identifying two of the Mystery Pictures. I find it an entertaining challenge since being away from my hometown for 50 plus years.
“So, I’m going with my gut this time, right or wrong. I believe the Mystery Picture is the courtyard at OBHS. Much more sophisticated, looking at the picture, then when it was established in the ’50s.”
Leven is so correct. The newly refurbished senior garden keeps getting better.
Billy Minicozzi guessed it was a park bench near town hall. He wished the Jets good luck; wished the Yankees would be in the World Series; can’t wait for football to begin; and wished everyone a great Labor Day weekend.
