Mario Lopez Makes Stop on Long Island

Taking a couple of hours out from a jam-packed schedule of work and parenthood, multi-talented megastar Mario Lopez made a special guest appearance at GLO Nightclub in Westbury on Saturday, Oct 2 to help celebrate the club’s second year anniversary.

Lopez stopped by GLO with a couple of friends. Hundreds of club goers made their way to the hotspot to catch a glimpse or even a snapshot of the TV personality; it was a welcoming first impression on Lopez.

“My work still requires me to travel and I had business meetings earlier, but tonight we were invited here [to GLO], so we came out to let off a little steam,” said Lopez. “I’ve never been to Long Island before; it’s my first time.”

Lopez may already have a significant amount of career titles and responsibilities, from his notoriety earned as a childstar of the 80s hit Saved By the Bell, his many acting roles, and his current hosting spot on the magazine show Extra. As a children’s book author, the actor can now clear his schedule for the fulfilling role as a father. Less than a month ago, Lopez was initiated into the role of fatherhood when actress girlfriend Courtney Mazza delivered their daughter.

“I have a beautiful little girl now, Gia Francesca,” Lopez proudly shared. “You’ll be able to see all about it; I have a new reality show coming out for VH1 on November 1st, it’s called Mario Lopez: Saved By the Baby.”

It’s always a question from fans and critics when celebrities are able to coordinate the demands of their high profile careers and the traditional roles of family life.

“I think the new reality show is going to be a very revealing look at a side that people have never seen before, me juggling my work, my friends and taking this journey into fatherhood,” said Lopez. “I like people and I am always real appreciative that they are watching or supporting whatever I am doing; so aside from Extra, I hope people tune in to watch the new show.”

To help return thanks to its patrons, the owners of GLO offered an hour of free open bar and free admission through 1 a.m. Upcoming guests include: OscarG’s CD release party on Friday, Oct. 8, an LMFAO performance on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Chris Brown on Saturday, Oct. 16.
