A heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the many volunteers who helped decorate our Village for the 2010 holiday season. The air was cold and crisp but spirits were sunny and warm as the members of the Beautification Committee, together with new volunteers, members of the Women’s Club, Junior Members of the Village Fire Department, Mayor, Trustees and Public Works Superintendent and staff worked countless hours getting all our decorations prepared for this year.
Folks could be seen making bows, stringing lights, hanging wreaths and garland and filling street sign pots along Main Street, Conklin Street, in Village Green, Northside Park, Main Street/Melville Road Gazebo Park, Grengras Park and at the railroad station.
Our DPW personnel braved brisk winds to hang lights on the village’s Tri-Centennial tree in anticipation of the Village’s Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Throughout the year, our spring and fall plantings and holiday decorating has been accomplished through the tireless work of volunteers. Without their dedication, this work could not be done. Our Village is so fortunate to have so many people committed to this effort.
The spirit of the season is very evident in the Village of Farmingdale!
