Home for the Holidays Pet Adoptions

This time of year is a joyous season filled with celebrations, family gatherings, reflections and giving. What better way to share in the joy of the holiday spirit than by taking a loving cat or dog into your home? From young children to senior citizens, people delight in having a pet as a member of the family.

In Hempstead Town we are making pet adoption part of your “Reason for the Season” by helping to make the pet adoption experience more affordable and special. That’s why we have waived the adoption fee and the rabies shot fee now through Jan. 15, 2011 as part of our “Home for the Holidays” adoption program. In addition, all cats and dogs adopted will be spayed or neutered and microchipped free of charge. Microchipping implants a tracking device the size of a grain of rice in animals so owners may be reunited quickly with lost pets. And, in the holiday spirit, each pet adopted will receive a special gift generously donated by Animal Appetites Ltd. of Wantagh.

Our partnership with Petfinder.com has resulted in uniting caring owners with loving pets. You can experience holiday joy on the web and view some of the animals at our shelter that are available for adoption by using the Petfinder link on Hempstead Town’s website, www.TOH.LI.

Tune into KJOY 98.3FM to hear Steve and Peri, and listen Wednesday mornings to hear about Kate Murray’s Holiday Pets of the Week.

Why not stop by our animal shelter at 3320 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh or call our staff at (516) 785-5220. The shelter is open from 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

You can make pet adoption part of your “Reason for the Season” by opening your house to great pets that need you.
