Oyster Bay Power Squadron Offers Safe Boating Classes

Oyster Bay Power Squadron District 3 Lieutenant Glen Sherman, public relations officer, announced courses designed to make every boater a safe boater are now available through local power squadrons.

Safe Boating Courses, free Vessel Safety Checks and more, from America’s Boating Club, are offered by the United States Power Squadrons. The local group is the Oyster Bay Power Squadron. The United States Power Squadron is the premier boating organization dedicated to “Safe Boating through Education” since 1914.

 

Class Offerings

The Oyster Bay Power Squadron will be giving the class in Basic Boating at the WaterFront Center, 1 West End Avenue on May 3, at 7:30 p.m. They are accepting registrations currently.

 

District 3 Seminars

 The Oyster Bay Power Squadron is offering several seminars at The WaterFront Center at 1 West End Avenue. The first one is on  How to Use a Chart and is given on May 4, at 7:30 p.m.

The topic is Boat Handling Under Power, on May 11, at 7:30 p.m. The course on Using GPS, will be held on May 18, at 7:30 p.m. The class on Using VHF & VHF/DSC Marine Radio will be held on May 25, at 7:30 p.m.
