Obituary – Catherine E. Dodd

Catherine E. Dodd, born in Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Bethpage, and was presently residing in Farmingdale, passed away at the age of 53 on Feb. 28, 2011. Daughter of Laurel and the late George Dodd. Sister of Georgette “GiGi” Kossman (Edward), Michael, Leslie, Kim Flynn (Matthew) and Keith. Aunt of Michael Vincent Dodd, Nicole Dodd and Thomas Walters. Cathy was a member of the Farmingdale Fire Department, the Wantagh American Legion Pipe Band, Swim Program coordinator for both the Town of Hempstead and the American Red Cross. She was a master’s degree graduate of Hofstra and had been a physical education teacher for 30 years at Roslyn High School. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held March 5 at St. Martin of Tours RC Church. Cremation was private. Placement of her ashes will take place in South Carolina at a later date.
