The community is invited to participate in the Sixth Annual Community Wellness Walk on Saturday, April 9 (rain or shine) at The Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay (formerly Doubleday Babcock Senior Center), 45 East Main St., Oyster Bay. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Before the Walk, the Center’s Zumba instructor will have a warm-up session; after the walk, there will be mini-sessions of Health & Wellness exercise programs. Nurses will be on hand to take blood pressure readings and a massage therapist will be available for a mini-massage.
The Walk benefits both The Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay and the Oyster Bay Preschool, which are co-sponsoring this fun and healthy event. Intergenerational camaraderie is an important goal of these two non-profit organizations that have a successful ongoing relationship.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to join the Center’s participants and the preschoolers (both new and former) as they walk on the beautiful streets of Oyster Bay and around its waterfront. The donation is $20 per adult, $10 per child which includes a T-shirt, refreshments and entry into the door prize drawing. The preschool children will also receive medals and prizes for completing the Walk.
“We are looking forward to seeing you on April 9!” said Gail Speranza, Life Enrichment Center of Oyster Bay executive director and Bev Zembko, Oyster Bay Preschool director.
