Laughter for Children’s Sake

Variety Child Learning Center will hold its annual “Laughter for Children’s Sake” fundraising event at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. The evening, which draws together friends, families and early childhood education professionals will raise money to benefit VCLC’s special education programs for children with developmental disabilities, including autism; support services for their families; and training for professionals in the field. This year, VCLC will celebrate its 45th Anniversary at Laughter for Children’s Sake” which provides guests with comedic acts from television, stage and/or screen, along with dinner, open bar and fabulous silent auction and raffle prizes. Spring Craft Fair

Holy Trinity High School will host over 100 vendors selling their spring crafts/flowers, plus food, refreshments, bake sale, raffles/Chinese auction. Purim Spectacular 2011

Presented by Town of Oyster Bay Chabad. Starring the “Torah Tots” – (Jewish Themed Disney like costumed characters), live in concert. The show, featuring music, song, lights, scenery, audience participation and a touch of Broadway choreography, brings the mitvzot to life in a swirl of splendor. The kids will also participate in fun Purim themed crafts, masquerade (come in costume), multimedia megillah reading. They will eat hamantashen, pizza and more and have a chance at winning an amazing grand raffle prize. 2 to 4:35 p.m. at the Plainview Holiday Inn, Sunnyside Blvd. All this is free, by online reservation only – no exceptions. Blood Drive

The 3rd Annual Sarah Grace Weippert Memorial Blood Drive will take place at the William P. •Family Support Group, an ongoing support group for those who have family members or other loved ones with mental illness. Meets on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. at Central Nassau Guidance & Counseling Services, 950 South Oyster Bay Rd. The fee is $5 per family. Women who are planning a pregnancy or are already expecting can join Drs. Prince, Brooks and Flynn and have their questions answered on conception and a safe pregnancy.
