A Kings of Leon concert in Dallas on Friday was abruptly cancelled as the band’s lead singer bowed out because the heat got to him.
According to E! Online, lead singer Caleb Followill left the stage during the concert in Dallas Friday night because of the heat, leaving the rest of the band to apologize for his troubles.
“My voice is completely 100-percent wrong, I’m sorry,” the band’s lead singer told the crowd, according to E!. “I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot…I’m gonna go backstage for a second. I’m gonna vomit, I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs.”
The problem? The singer left the stage and never returned.
According to a report, Caleb suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration.
Bandmate Jared Followill then went to the mic to apologize to the stunned crowd, telling fans that the band was “unbelievably sorry” for what transpired.
And Jared was not done. After the show he took to Twitter to address fans once again.
“Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am,” he tweeted. “There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed. No words.”
Fifteen hours later he tweeted: “I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”
Jared received several messages on Twitter from fans telling the band to stick together and saying, “we still love you.”
A representative for Kings of Leon told E! that show will be postponed to a later date.
