Motorcyclist Killed in Selden Crash

Suffolk County Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a motorcyclist in Selden July 31.

Travis Smith, 20, was operating a Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Route 25 when a Dodge sedan driven by Georgia Reeve, 83, made a left turn into the parking lot of a CVS pharmacy at the intersection of North Evergreen Drive and the vehicles collided at 11:32 a.m.

Smith, of Farmingville, was transported by the Selden Fire Department to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Reeve, of Coram, was also transported to Stony Brook, where she was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash and has not yet been interviewed by detectives is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652. All calls will be kept confidential.
