On Sunday at 12:15 p.m., a 66-year-old female had just withdrawn cash from a drive-up ATM in Hewlett Sunday when a man approached her, demanding money.
The woman was withdrawing cash from an ATM at the Chase Bank, located at 1735 Peninsula Boulevard in Hewlett, when she was approached by a man. He walked up to the victim’s driver side door, which was opened at the time, and reached into the car, demanding money while stating that he had a gun (although it wasn’t seen). The victim quickly shifted the car into drive and drove to a local police station where she reported the crime.
According to police, the subject is described as a white male in his late 40s, 5’6”-5’8”, 170 lbs., clean shaven, wearing a dark baseball cap on backwards and a dark shirt.
