I recently read about Marianna Wohlgemuth being replaced as a Board Member on the Water Authority of Western Nassau County. How can Supervisor Kaiman think this would be good for the people who are customers of the old Jamaica Water? It makes no sense to me.
When the Waterbill Watchdogs lobbied for the establishment of a municipal water district Marianna was one of the original members who helped. She has been on the board for 15 years or more and our rates are half what they were, even with the cost of everything you touch going up. With 15 years experience she has knowledge of budgeting, plant operations, water quality issues just to name a few. She wants to stay but is being forced off. Why?
This is the craziest thing I have heard in my more than 40 years living in New Hyde Park. Supervisor Jon Kaiman does not care about the ratepayers, only his ego.
