Sarah Zwart, a third grader in Mrs. Downing’s class at Northside School, was named the district winner of this year’s Levittown Fire Department’s Fire Safety Poster Contest. Zwart drew the rooms inside of a house showing the dangers of a fire with a child under a bed and another at the door entitled “Don’t hide! Go outside!”
She was invited to a special fire department presentation at the Levittown Fire House in honor of the district winners. And for a further honor, she rode to school on Halloween in a fire truck, driven by Fire Commissioner and Fire Prevention Chairman Joel Bearman.
