We honor the peacemakers that all shall beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks.
Of all things good with the world
In every season, good is everything.
To marvel at the Word unfurled with
Truth and grace altogether awakened.
He came to us when we floundered
To deliver a precious message.
A light moves in the night across the sky
That we must follow to throw down darkness,
And every saint, and every prophet, and every prayer
Sews the beauty of this mind so that all
May grow gracious and immortal.
To bargain with hate, to fawn over doubt,
is to spin the death that killed Jesus,
Slew Mohammed, turned a deaf ear to Moses,
Choked the living breath of Buddha,
To murder the light we can ill afford to let fade
Or go out, lightening the dark heart—
But no, put a candle to virtue
And let the brightness show for all to see.
