Picture 11One meteorologist had a Ron Burgundy moment on air this past week.

WGBA meteorologist Brian Niznansky relied too much on the teleprompter and ended up reading a humorous line that was put in by a director.

The director slipped a famous “Anchorman” quote into the newscast and had Niznansky read, “I love lamp.”

He quickly realized what happened and the two anchors began giggling at the prank.

The video made its way to the Internet, naturally. Its since proved to be a hit, garnering hundred of views since it was first posted. “A great newsroom prank,” read the YouTube video caption.

He later took to his Twitter to comment: “yes yes #ilovelamp 🙂 I’m happy to give some of you a good chuckle. Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!”

Niznansky is the morning meteorologist for “NBC 26 Today!” and the funny line he reads of the prompter comes from the famous 2004 flick starring Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate. “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” follows a San Diego TV station where Ferrell’s character battles it out in the newsroom with his female co-anchor Veronica Corningstone,  played by Applegate.

The film was a hit with audiences and made over $28 million in its opening weekend alone. The flick went on to be listed on Bravo’s top 100 funniest movies.

The line comes from weatherman, Brick Tamland, played by Steve Carell, who is best known for his doling out of random and sometimes unimportant information. The line was uttered during a meeting in Burgundy’s office where Tamland says, “I love carpet, I love desk,” and finishes with, “I love lamp.”
