John Albert Hoffman, 80, formerly of Long Island, passed away while residing in Fair Play, SC, on Dec. 15, 2011. Graduate of Erasmus High School, retired chief engineer with Sears, member of Dix Hills Fire Department. Predeceased in 2010 by his wife, Faith P. Hoffman. He is survived by a brother, Victor, two nieces, Christine Porter and Ruth Podwoski, and many friends. Arrangements were made by Arthur F. White Funeral Home. Private services and entombment took place Dec. 20 at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
