Eighth Annual Polar Bear Plunge at TR Park Beach, Benefits ucpn

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. (ucpn) will be hosting its 8th annual Polar Bear Plunge benefit fundraiser. The event will be held Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, Beach & Marina in Oyster Bay, with festivities to begin at 1 p.m. and the plunge to take place at 2 p.m. (This is the day that clocks are turned an hour ahead, good way to remember the date of the plunge and to make that clock adjustment!)

Come ‘chill-out’ and help raise funds for a cause that will warm your heart. The day is always filled with fun and will include a DJ, free hot chocolate, coffee, tea, soup and the Atlantic Steamer Fire Company will be cooking and serving free hot dogs!. There will be raffles and other surprises including a dancing Polar Bear! An indoor assembly area will also be available and the event will be held rain, snow or shine!

All proceeds will benefit the more than 1,800 children and adults with disabilities who participate in programs and receive services through the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. The ucpn has been assisting individuals with disabilities since 1948.

Honorary co-chairs of the event are Supervisor of the Town of Oyster Bay, John Venditto, and Assemblyman Harvey Weisenberg. The Co-Chairmen Frank Ozol and Jack Sullivan invite everyone to come out and enjoy a fun day while helping to raise funds and awareness for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. Think about forming a team of your school friends, co-workers or family members! Fun for swimmers and spectators!
