The NBA is having a good week: Jeremy Lin has taken over New York and Will Ferrell was on the hardwood.

The comedian and actor found himself playing a new role: PA announcer.

Ferrell was in New Orleans on Wednesday night to introduce the New Orleans Hornets and Chicago Bulls and you had to know that he was going to have a couple of choice words up his sleeves.

The actor’s first victim was the Bulls’ Carlos Boozer who was introduced as the man who “still lives with his mother.”

Next up was Luol Deng, who according to Ferrell “collects rare birds and has a pet dolphin named Chachi.” We have a sneaky suspicion that may not actually be true.

Ferrell, apparently brave enough to mock the big men on the Bulls’, said of Joakim Noah: “He’s a Scorpio and a horrible dancer.”

Noah did not try to prove the special guest announcer wrong.

We also learned that Bulls point guard Derrick Rose’s favorite movie is the “Notebook.”

After a brief break so the Hornets faithful could enjoy Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” the “Semi-Pro” star returned to throw some jokes at the home team.

According to Ferrell, the Hornets’ Emeka Okafor “minored in love” while at UConn and Marco Belinelli, from Bologna, Italy, ironically “hates Italian food.”

We don’t know if anybody actually bought anything that was coming out of Ferrell’s mouth, but he did make things fun in the NBA for one day.

Unfortunately for the Hornets, Ferrell’s pregame entertainment didn’t help them on the court—the Bulls crushed them 90-67.
