Singer Ray J has reportedly been released from the hospital.
At first Ray J’s reps were saying he was being hospitalized for exhaustion, but are now admitting they were also making sure he did not have a blood clot in his lung as a result of the long flights.
His rep told Us Weekly: “Ray J has been released from the hospital in Las Vegas and is back home in Los Angeles following an extensive battery of tests to make sure that he did not have a blood clot in his lungs which is potentially a deadly condition that can occur following a long haul plane flight.”
He was hospitalized Monday. The rep said Ray J was in Las Vegas for the Billboard Music Awards and to host a party after performing in China, according to Boston.com.
What didn’t help his condition, according to TMZ, was that he was also upset about his confrontation with Whitney Houston’s family during the Billboard Music Awards.
TMZ later revealed Whitney’s family did not ask for Ray to be removed from his seat, but that a Billboard official wanted Ray J to change where he was sitting.
Ray J and Whitney Houston were friends before her death and had been frequently photographed when they were out together.
“I’ve tried to process the emptiness that I am experiencing. What my heart feels cannot be expressed in words,” Ray J told Us Weekly right after the infamous diva passed away. “The world lost an icon, but I lost my close friend.”
“I really miss my friend, you know, I really do. I’m still hurting,” he recently was quoted as saying.
