Herricks To Hold Senior Awards Assembly
Herricks High School will hold its Senior Awards Assembly in the high school courtyard at 8:15 p.m.
New Hyde Park/Garden City Park Schools To Close
The New Hyde Park/Garden City Park Schools will be closed in celebration of Memorial Day. This holiday is given due to the fact that no days related to bad weather were taken this year because of a mild winter.

New Hyde Park To Hold Annual Memorial Day Parade
New Hyde Park Village, in conjunction with the VFW and The American Legion, will hold its annual Memorial Day parade stepping off from Hillside Boulevard at 10 a.m. There will be a stop at village hall, corner of New Hyde Park Road and Jericho Turnpike, to place a wreath at the rock, the site of all the names of New Hyde Park residents who perished at war. The parade will then head north on New Hyde Park Road to Memorial Park on the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Wilton Avenue where there will also be a wreath laying and speeches on the meaning of Memorial Day, usually delivered by New Hyde Park Village Mayor Daniel Petruccio. The parade will then disband and refreshments will be served back at Marcus Christ Hall, on the grounds of village hall.

All schools, banks and municipal buildings are closed to celebrate this holiday. This day commemorates all men and women who have died while serving in the military service for the United States.

New Hyde Park Memorial High School, 500 Leonard Boulevard, New Hyde Park, will hold its annual awards night at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Awards will be given to the members of the senior class.
Herricks Community Fund Carnival
The Herricks Community Fund Carnival will open on the grounds of the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park from 6 to 10 p.m. and will continue on Friday, June 1 from 6 to 10 p.m.; on June 2 from noon until 10 p.m. and on June 3 from noon to 8 p.m.

Special Event At Long Island Children’s Museum: Cupcakes And Cocktails
On Friday, June 1 from 7 to 11 p.m., at the flavor-filled evening to benefit the Long Island Children’s Museum, enjoy a continuous cocktail party with sumptuous food stations and passed hors d’oeuvres all evening, an eclectic mix of live entertainment and engaging hands-on activities. The highlight of the evening is the exciting live auction. Debby and Scott Rechler serve as co-chairs of the event and Olga and George Tsunis are the honorees. This event is for “big kids” only in their best cocktail attire! The funds raised from the evening go to support LICM’s museum-based educational programs and cultural experiences, and extend its community outreach programs across Long Island. Visitors to the Long Island Children’s Museum this week will see the exciting array of workshops, exhibits and theater programs they’ve come to expect at Long Island’s well-attended cultural institution. New Hyde Park Knights Of Columbus Golf Outing
The New Hyde Park Knights of Columbus Golf Outing will be held at the Clearview Golf Course. Signup is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Eighteen holes of golf includes a shared cart, hamburgers/hot dogs with beer/soda before tee-off and food and beverages on the fairway for three hours. After golf at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1000 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, there is a buffet dinner, open bar, door and raffle prize drawings for a fee of $130 per golfer. Sarah Grace Foundation To Present An Unrehearsed Night Of Improv
The Sarah Grace Foundation For Children With Cancer, Inc. will hold its second annual theatrical fundraiser, “Unrehearsed Night of Improv,” at 7 p.m. on June 1 and again on June 2 in the Hicksville Methodist Church Social Hall, 130 West Old Country Road, Hicksville.
