Throughout the month of July several local businesses and organizations have teamed up to help support The Eve Foundation’s ninth annual “Christmas In July,” a non-perishable food drive benefiting local residents who find it difficult to purchase food for their households during difficult financial times.
Hunger exists on Long Island all year, not only during the winter months. Food pantries and shelters across the island welcome donations to keep their pantry shelves stocked and ready to feed hundreds of local residents throughout the year.
Bring all nonperishable foods, and grocery gift cards to the following collection sites: Farmingdale Library, 116 Merritts Road; Dr. Shari Eskin’s office, 47-3 Boundary Avenue in South Farmingdale; and at all Village Pops concerts on the Village Green throughout the month of July. Gift cards to general merchandise stores like Target and Wal-Mart, in addition to monetary donations are also being accepted.
