Editorial: Back To School Approaching

The next three weeks can either be a hindrance or a welcome arrival, depending on your child care arrangements and vacation time availability at work. As a parent, I, for one, am eagerly awaiting back-to-school for the kids.

The other stress is whether you will wait until the last chance to complete the supply roundup. This year, unlike in years past when I waited until the last minute to complete the supply list shopping and replenishment of school clothes; I was spot-on this year. Supply shopping complete—check. Clothes and shoes in order—check. It’s always easier to give fellow parents a gentle prod to “complete the race” when I am on the finishing side of the tape, which isn’t always my case.

No matter if you have children returning or you are far from the back-to-school scene, many of the Levittown kids will be playing a little closer to home in the next three weeks. Remain vigilant, and play safe and enjoy the final Dog Days of summer.
