Schools Out. Mini-Fall Camps
Let the kids have a few last days off camp fun. The Village of Garden City Recreation Department in conjunction with U.S. Sports Institute are offering two mini-multisports camps. Learn to play 10 different sports from around the world in two fun-packed days. Including soccer, basketball, baseball, flag football. This is the only sports camp dedicated to the truly sports-minded youngster. Dance Conservatory Registration Begins
The Garden City Recreation Department’s Dance Conservatory Program is pleased to announce the start of registration for its upcoming 2012-13 season. Director Felicia Lovaglio, along with Mary Searson and the rest of her staff, are excited to start off another fantastic year. The Dance Conservatory offers classes to Garden City residents ages 3 through adult which are non-performance based. Age is determined by the start date of the desired class. The schedule and fees for this year’s youth classes are as follows (all classes are 55 minutes long unless otherwise noted):
Note: Participants MUST be the required age by the start of the program in order to register. Each class will meet for 25 weeks at a cost of $225. Classes will begin the week of Sept. 24.
Please make selections carefully as fees are not refundable.
To register: by mail only, no walk-in registrations will be accepted until September 18. The Dance Conservatory cannot be held responsible for delays in the mail. To register, pick up an application at the recreation office at 108 Rockaway Ave or on at www.gardencityrecreation.org. You can also make your own application by listing your child’s name, address, phone number, birth date, grade he/she will be entering in September and the session and classes for which you are registering with a first and second choice. Mail all information with full payment to the Garden City Recreation Department at 108 Rockaway Ave. Please make all checks payable to the “Inc. Village of Garden City.”

Zumba Classes Registration Begins
Get in shape by “dancing” your way to your goal by joining the recreation center’s Zumba classes, taught by dance director Felicia Lovaglio. Each 45-minute class offers body movement to great music giving the participant a fun workout. These zumba classes are offered to adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City according to the following schedule:
Mondays 7:45 p.m.
Thursdays 9:15 p.m.
Saturdays 9:15 p.m.
Each day is offered in a 14-week session at a cost of $125. To register, visit the recreation office at 108 Rockaway Ave.

The questionnaire can be found at the administrative office, at Community Park, and at the pool.
