Grasshoppers—The Steelers and Titans youngsters put on a great show for a capacity crowd on Sunday afternoon. The Steelers were led by Mateo Morales, who made a nifty run to pay dirt while also throwing a TD strike to Christopher Smith and making an awesome full out dive to yank a flag and prevent a long Titans scoring chance. Alexa Smith contributed a long TD gallop, while Andrew Adamo and Matthew Ippololi made tough runs to get the Steelers into the red zone. Guiseppe Dalimonte contributed a nice sprint to the end zone while Ernie Thompson passed for a score and made some nice defensive plays, as well.

Peanut—The 49ers were led by Nick Migliaccio who scored two rushing touchdowns. Dean Kott and Colin Horowitz executed a reverse that resulted in a TD while Chris Ruotolo led the defense with two tackles / flags before the game was called due to heavy rain.

Peanut 2—The Redskins were balanced this week with Joe Mahan, Michael McCarty, William Napolitano and Christopher Giglio all scoring on touchdown runs. On Defense, Giglio had an interception while Christian Mall and Jonathan Pereira each had a tackle/flag.

CJ Mangio broke three tackles in a 60-yard run for the game’s first score. In the second half, Ben Purcell connected with Jack Wiser on a 60-yard TD pass. Wiser led a strong defensive effort with seven solo flags, two blocked passes and two interceptions. Ben Purcell also added an interception just before halftime. Joe Walsh and CJ Mangio added two flags of their own. Izabella Cimino, Nick Mahan, Nick DiGorga and Aiden Ng helped to stifle the 49ers offense.

Pee Wee 3—The Steelers defeated the Jets 32-24. Jake Miller and Nick Napolitano had long touchdown catches to give the Steelers a 20-6 lead in the third quarter. The Jets rallied and took a 24-20 lead with four minutes to go in the game. Colin Cody had a 20-yard run followed by a Nick Disani touchdown catch to give the Steelers the lead. Napolitano intercepted a jet pass on the five-yard line and the Steeler iced the game with a Disanti touchdown run.

Pee Wee 4—The Titans improved their record to 3-1 with a 32-19 win over the Giants. Sam Cordova and Brenden Moritz both scored two touchdowns. Michael Melo ran for a long TD. Adam Gordon and Matt Gaba both had long runs. Jack Moloney and Daniel DeMartino led the Titans’ defense.

Girls 5/6—The Titans and Giants girls waged an epic battle with the Titans surviving by two points to squeeze out the victory. The Titans were led by the team’s Olivias: Olivia Connolly contributed a nice sprint to pay dirt while also throwing a TD dart to Olivia Kropp; Kropp also made a tough INT in traffic and chipped in a second TD by virtue of an impressive gallop up the sideline on a halfback sweep. Allison Kiernan starred with a pick six and several big runs on offense, while Rebecca Morales reeled in a TD strike from Paige Nusio before making a huge, late goal line INT to preserve the victory. Gianna Morales contributed a long run to set the Titans up in great field position and made several flags on defense. Kimberly Dortz, Victoria Gagliardi and Andrea Lauritsen rounded out a solid offensive performance while also making several big stops on defense.

Junior Varsity 6—The Steelers pulled away late in the second half for a 19-7 win in a tough battle against the Chiefs. Daniel Bould connected on a short pass over the middle to Mario Febbraro who took it the length of the field to seal it. Connor Zanelotti scored his first touchdown of the season by hanging onto a bullet thrown by Mario despite a Chief defender close by. However, the story of the game was the outstanding effort provided by each of the Steelers on defense.

The Texans beat the Patriots 14-13. A tremendous defensive effort, highlighted by a John Feldman interception, by the Texans to defeat the Patriots in a real close and exciting game. Daniel Cordova scored both Texan touchdowns. A great team effort for the Texans second straight win by one point over the last two weeks.
