Halloween Dance Party

A ghost and goblin Halloween dance party will be held at Kismet Shriners Hall, 18 W. Nicholai (off Old Country Road 107N) from noon to 3 p.m. and will include costume contest, dancing to your favorite music, chicken, salads, bagels, coffee, and pastries with a professional ballroom DJ. Dance Classes

Learn the art of social and ballroom dancing with professional dance instructors. Singles and couples welcome. Beginners and advanced. At Kismet, 18 W. Nicholai St., Hicksville. Fridays from noon to 3:30 p.m. Lesson is $10. Social dancing takes place at 12:30 p.m. Chicken, salads, bagels, cream cheese, and pastries. Halloween Costume Party

Our Lady of Mercy Council, Knights of Columbus, will sponsor a Halloween costume party from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mercy School Gym, South Oyster Bay Rd., Hicksville. This annual Halloween bash features DJ Celebrity Music. Enjoy music, dancing, games, free giveaways and a haunted house. Beer, wine, soda, candy, coffee, tea and dessert will be provided. Hospice Care Network’s Crystal Ball Gala

“Halloween Casino Night” cocktail reception, sit-down dinner, games of chance, silent auction, entertainment and dancing to benefit Hospice Care Network’s programs and services. Honorees include Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and Justice Ute Wolff Lally. Mt. Airy Casino Trip

The Joseph Barry Columbiettes, 45 Heitz Place, Hicksville, will be having a bus trip to Mt. Airy Casino in Pennsylvania. The cost is $42 per person, which includes the bus driver’s tip. You may spend the full day at the casino or you may choose to spend a few hours at the Crossings Outlet Mall. You may make the decision about shopping on Oct. 30. Fourth Annual Bands Battling Autism

The 4th Annual Bands Battling Autism takes place at the Stuart Thomas Manor in Farmingdale. Bands composed of local middle school and high school students perform for a chance to perform at the New York Islanders Autism Awareness Night. The proceeds from the event are donated to support the 13th Annual Long Island Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Advanced ticket price is $12/each. It will be $15 at the door the day of the event. The Annual Eyes of Learning Fall Festival

Come join the Eyes of Learning’s Fall Festival with raffles, vendors, free lectures, food, camaraderie and the option to purchase your own psychic reading. Spend a day with “like minded individuals” and make some new friends. The festival is a source of the Eyes of Learning operating revenue thanks to the many volunteers and psychics who generously give of their time and talents to keep the regularly scheduled lectures and workshops available to all.
