I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the hard work our Village officials and administrator have put in over the past two weeks. Our power is on for the first time in 11 days. My neighbors and I repeatedly called LIPA asking for updates and info on why so many people in Farmingdale had power but a small strip of us had no power. Needless to say, our questions went unanswered.
Finally, one of our neighbors wrote a letter, signed by those of us with no power to our mayor and village trustees explaining our problem. That same afternoon, we had a LIPA truck outside. They fixed a loose wire in 15 minutes and informed us that it was the village that had finally gotten through to them.
I just wanted to take a moment and thank our village officials, especially our mayor, Ralph Ekstrand for responding to Farmingdale residents concerns and getting LIPA to come out ASAP. Thank you Mr. Mayor and all of our trustees and village administration.
