Residents march down Main Street in holiday parade
The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday parade was held on Saturday, Nov. 17 along Main Street, from Northside Elementary School to the Village Green. Residents of Farmingdale including, the Farmingdale High School band, and the Dalerettes, local officials and dozens of Girl Scouts, all showed their Christmas pride.
The band played Christmas songs, while the Dalerettes danced. The Girl Scout troops also paraded down Main Street dressed as presents, snowflakes, and candy canes, and more.
Following the Girl Scouts, members of the Farmingdale Fire Department chauffeured Santa down Main Street atop Engine & Hose Company’s Water Witch fire engine. The children follow Santa to the Village Green gazebo. They lined up for a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and have their pictures taken.
The parade gets everyone in a holiday spirit, signaling that the holiday season has arrived. A special thanks to Farmingdale Lanes for the candy cane donation.
