OBEN Chamber Installation

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Chamber of Commerce installation of officers and directors takes place on Feb. 28 at Christ Church at 7 p.m. All current paid members are invited, complimentary. Polar Bear Plunge

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. with the assistance of the Atlantic Steamer Fire Company will hold the 9th annual Polar Bear Swim on March 3 at the beach in the Theodore Roosevelt Park. Xiomáro Show

The Oyster Bay Historical Society presents an exhibit of photographs by Xiomáro taken of Sagamore Hill uncovered. He photographed the Theodore Roosevelt mansion at Sagamore Hill National Historic Park as it was being readied for restoration. Reception in the Koenig Center, 20 Summit Street, from 6 to 8 p.m. For information call 922-5032.

LI Baroque Concert

The Long Island Baroque Ensemble plays at Christ Church, 61 East Main Street, OB, at 3 p.m. As the oldest authentic, professional early music group on the Island, the Long Island Baroque Ensemble duplicates the sounds of times gone by with concerts of early music performed on replicas of period instruments. Tickets: $20/$15 seniors, $10 students, children with adults admitted free. Call 922-6377.

Budget Workshop

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich board of education is holding its second budget workshop on March 12 at 8 p.m. in the Oyster Bay High School library. Residents are welcome to attend and learn about the process of how the board deliberates on how to balance a budget with student achievement as a top goal within the constraints of NYS Department of Education unfunded mandates, the NYS 2 percent cap on budgets, etc. Meetings continue on March 19, April 2, April 16 and May 7.

Opera Night

Founder Isabella Eredita Johnson will bring her group of gifted musicians to perform arias from some of the most beloved op- eras: La Boheme, Tosca, Madame Butter- fly, Aida, Le Nozze di Figaro, as well as art songs of Schubert, Wolf, Liszt and Schumann on March 17, at 4 p.m. at Christ Church. Suggested donation: $15. Call 922-6377. The concerts continue on April 21 and June 16.

Opera Night

Run for Literacy

Joint the 7th Annual Run for Literacy, a 5K run/walk at 10:15 a.m. and a free quarter mile Fun Run for future Olypmians age 10 and under, starts at 9:15 with race at 9:45 a.m. at the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School. Contact: brookejackmanfoundation.org or 922-1811.

Health & Fitness Fair

The 10th Annual Health & Fitness Fair brings vendors to Audrey Avenue. Run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Senator Carl Marcellino and the OB-EN chamber offer live entertainment, fitness demonstrations, health screenings, inter-active displays for kids. Call 922-6464 for information.
