Hempstead village police have apprehended a suspect wanted for stabbing a 28-year-old man to death four weeks ago.

Luis Moreno was arrested Sunday near the crime scene and was charged with second-degree murder.

Police said the 35-year-old suspect fatally stabbed Darwin Hernandez, who was found dead behind Laundry Palace on Clinton Street on March 2.

Both the suspect and the victim are from Hempstead.

Moreno will be arraigned Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
