POW-MIA service 

Non-sectarian memorial service held for the remembrance of all brethren who are still listed as POW-MIA. Service on May 11 at 2 p.m. at St. Francis DeChantal, 1309 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh. 

Scholar In Residence

Join Congregation Beth Tikvah, 3710 Woodbine Ave., Wantagh for the annual Scholar in Residence program on Friday, May 10 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, May 11 at 9:15 a.m. The guest speaker will be Rabbi Jonathan Porath who will be addressing several topics including “Visits to Jews in Russia.” Everyone is welcome. Spring Craft And Vendor Fair

On Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church will be hosting their annual Spring Fair. There will be vendors and crafters of all types, including local art, handbags, jewelry, candles, baby and kid items, accessories, household items, plant and flower sale (Just in time for Mother’s Day) and more. Lunch and baked goods will be available for purchase.  Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church is located at 1845 Wantagh Ave.  Admission is free and there is plenty of free parking in the municipal parking lot behind the church.

De-Stuff

Dr. Duffy Spencer, social psychologist, will be presenting “The Stress of Stuff: How to ‘De-Stuff’, De-Stress and Get the Life You Deserve!” at Bethpage Library, 47 Powell Avenue on May 15 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. For information, call 516-931-3907 or 516-334-8985.

Immigration Update

Do you agree with current policies? Do you want changes? On Wednesday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. there will be a panel presentation on this subject at the Levittown Public Library. At that time you will have an opportunity to get answers to questions you may have which will help to clarify the complex issue of immigration. The meeting is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of East Nassau. All are encouraged to attend.

Anti-bullying Session

Girl Scouts of Nassau County will hold an anti-bullying session for all girls in grades 6-8 on May 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hicksville Community Center, 28 West Carl Street. Get Hypnotized

On Friday, May 17, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Wantagh Fire Dept. will be hosting The James Munsey Comedy Hypnosis Show. It will be held at Wantagh Fire Dept. headquarters, 3470 Park Ave., Wantagh. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person which includes soda, coffee, tea and dessert. Book Sale

The Friends of the Wantagh Library, at 3285 Park Avenue will hold their Giant Book Sale on May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, and again on Saturday, May 18. Call 516-221-1200. Sales are cash only.

Church Homecoming 

The First Presbyterian Church of Levittown at 474 Wantagh Avenue is hosting a Homecoming Weekend for members, friends and the community. Join on Saturday, May 18, for a performance of the Prodigal Daughter, a musical at 4:30 p.m. followed by refreshments. Tickets: $20 for adults, $10 for those 18 and under. Homemaker’s Bingo
