Water District Offers Community Summer Tours

As part of a summer education initiative, the Plainview Water District Board of Commissioners Joel Kessler, Andrew Bader and Edward Shulroff invite all community organizations in the Plainview-Old Bethpage community to visit the Plainview Water District and tour its facilities.  The summer season at the district presents an educational hands-on opportunity for members to learn the day-to-day responsibilities that go into protecting the community’s natural resource.

“Teaching our community the importance of protecting our water supply continues to be a high priority,” says Kessler.  “We are committed to providing our residents with the cleanest, safest and best tasting water and look forward to educating our community about our commitments and responsibilities.”

Summer tours at the Plainview Water District offer community groups the expertise of district personnel and a detailed demonstration of the Long Island aquifer system through the use of a groundwater simulator, a visual working model that explains how water is delivered to homes and businesses from underground aquifers.
