A person was reportedly struck and killed by a Long Island Rail Road train near the Patchogue station on Monday evening.

Service was temporarily suspended on the Montauk Branch after victim was hit after 7 p.m., shortly after a train derailment in Penn Station snarled the rush hour commute.
