Hicksville Water District News

The Hicksville Water District Board of Commissioners Chairman Nicholas Brigandi reminds residents of the district’s commitment to monitoring the local water supply in Hicksville. The Hicksville Water District tests the water supply around the clock in order to provide residents with the highest quality water.

“We are obligated and committed to constantly providing our residents with the highest quality water supply at the lowest rates” said Board of Commissioners Chairman Brigandi. “The district proactively upholds a rigorous testing schedule that meets or exceeds state and federal requirements to ensure a clean, abundant water supply.”

The Hicksville Water District works around the clock—testing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—to ensure that all district facilities are efficiently and effectively operating at all times and consistently providing residents with water whenever they need it. The rigorous testings chedule and the highest testing standards guarantee that our community will receive the safest water possible.

The Hicksville Water District is mandated by New York State and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and abides by the strictest standards of water quality. The district strives to keep the water quality at the highest levels to far exceed any and all regulatory standards in order to distribute the best-tasting water for their customers.

Additionally, as a point of interest, please be aware that public water suppliers such as Hicksville are required to periodically screen for contaminants of emerging concern and detections are reported to the public under the mandate of the EPA, as very progressive and transparent process supporting public health. However, bottled water companies have no such requirement and are often delayed on monitoring emerging contaminants until the FDA adopts an equivalent regulation.

Residents are encouraged to review the Hicksville Water District Drinking Water Quality Report that was distributed in May 2013 for additional information about our water quality.
