Mangano and Suozzi will speak on business issues
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the Garden City Chamber of Commerce will kick off its luncheon season the Garden City Hotel, where the keynote speakers will be nominees for Nassau County Executive for election on Nov. 5. Incumbent, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano (R) will speak along with Tom Suozzi (D). This will not be a debate but rather an opportunity for each candidate to speak separately, expressing their respective views on the future of Nassau County and its impact upon the business community.
Ed Mangano was sworn into office as county executive on Jan. 1, 2010. Prior to becoming county executive, he had gained extensive experience as a county legislator, where he served the 17th Legislative District for seven terms.
Having served as the youngest Mayor of Glen Cove from 1992-2000, Tom Suozzi served in the office of county executive from Jan. 1, 2002 through Dec. 31, 2009, and now seeks a rematch against Ed Mangano.
This season’s kick-off luncheon program will also include a showcase of various member businesses to begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue throughout the reception/networking period. Luncheon will be served promptly at 12:30 p.m. Early reservations are suggested at $65 per person and may be made by calling the chamber at 516-746-7724.
