PAL Flag Football: September 26, 2013

Week 3—Peanut 1: Dean Kott ran for an 80-yard TD and caught another touchdown on a pass from Luke Begley. Katie Hecker had one flag and scored on a long touchdown run and Marissa Karlsen added a flag and a touchdown run as well. Andrew Adamo had 2 longs runs of 40 and 35 yards.

Peanut 2: The Patriots and Saints hooked during week 3. Eric Gardener and Keith Brannick led the Patriots on offense, which hooked up for a long touchdown. Alexia Natarus was a standout on defense. For the Saints, Dominick Mezzanotte led the team in rushing, and Ryan Gillen and Jimmy “J-Train” Caputo clogged up the middle on defense.

Pee Wee 3: The Jets and Vikings played an exciting offense driven game on Sunday. The Vikings impressive offense resulted in seven touchdowns with QB Chris Kosinski throwing four TDs to three different receivers. Philip Piero caught two deep passes for touchdowns.

Aiden Ng and Michael Ragusa had big receptions for touchdowns as well. Tyler Kretzmer who had two runs the length of the field for touchdowns led the running game. Troy Dubiel, Spencer Rustyak and Anthony Ventiere all found their way into the end zone for extra points.

On the Saints end, Matt Cangelosi threw a TD pass to Mike Connolly and a two-point conversion pass followed that up from Joe Walsh to Cangelosi. Walsh added a TD run late in the game.  

Josh Behar caught a well-thrown pass from Connolly and ran it end for the TD. Luke Spencer scored on an impressive TD run while Jason Chung had several long runs for nice yardage.  

Late in the game, Cangelosi threw a long pass to Walsh who found the end zone for another Saints TD. To round out a well-played game for the Saints, Gavin Vega snagged a flag to stop one Vikings drive, Connolly swatted down a pass that was heading to the end zone and Behar snagged several flags as well. Christian Medrano played tight pass defense for the Saints.  

The Redskins played the Giants.  Patrick Murphy ran the ball well and scored a touchdown. Accurate throws from Peter Fernandez and Bryan Birki helped to keep the team alive. The defense came up big with interceptions by Christian Mall and Chris Bergensen. James Hammelman kept the pressure on the quarterback and had a sack.
