SAT Courses
For college bound students, mathematics is one of the most important academic subjects a student can take in high school. Since the admissions process is so competitive, colleges now expect to see students take four years of high school math. In fact, college admissions officers scrutinize student transcripts to ensure students have included math as part of their four-year high school program.
Admittedly, advanced mathematics courses can challenge even the brightest of students. Fortunately at Island Trees, we have a dedicated group of math teachers who not only provide after-school extra help, but have developed a lunch study program each day at the high school. These devoted educators provide extra support and tutoring for struggling students.
As a matter of fact, the math department believes they have a collective responsibility for all students, not just the ones on their individual class rosters. What a great group of teachers! If your child is challenged by complex math concepts, please suggest that they take advantage of the lunchtime math support lab located in the high school library.
Again, the support is available for all students, lunch periods 3-8, and 9th period study hall. If you have further questions, please contact your child’s teacher or Mr. Grande, principal.
