A Massachusetts woman whose nude body was found dead in Hampton Bays over the weekend is not believed to be a victim of foul play, Southampton Town Police said Monday.
Officers responded to a 911 call of a woman found lying outside an apartment complex on Penny Lane shortly before 6 a.m. Friday, police said.
The woman, later identified as Monica Royston of Oxford, Mass., was pronounced dead at the scene, p0lice said.
Detectives with Southampton and Suffolk County police Homicide Squad responded and determined that the woman is not believed to be a murder victim, police said.
Her remains were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office where an autopsy is being conducted to determine her cause of death while the investigation is continuing.
