Fire Dept. Fights Blaze In Levittown At Levittown Home

On Nov. 21, the Levittown Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire on North Wantagh Ave. Police were first to respond to the call at 7:45 a.m., as firefighters rushed to the scene. Upon arrival, Levittown firefighters found visible signs of smoke and fire coming from inside the empty home.

 

“We started venting all the smoke out of the windows,” said First Deputy Fire Chief Ettle. 

 

According to Chief Ettle, all Levittown ladder companies were called in, as well as Wantagh Fire Department’s Ladder No. 2 company to assist in extinguishing the fire. The fire was quikly knocked down and crews overhauld the fire rooms.

No injuries were reported. 

 

Chief Ettle added that the cause of the fire is still under the investigation of the Nassau County Fire Marshall’s office, as of press time.
