Three MacArthur High School student athletes have signed National Letters of Intent, signifying thier plans to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level. The senior athletes were accompanied by their parents and coaches as they signed on the dotted line, to receive scholarship funds and fulfill their goals of playing on a college team. School district officials congratulated the following athletes as they embark on this important milestone in their athletic careers.
Senior infielder and pitcher Robert Andreoli is an all-conference player who helped lead MacArthur High School to a league championship and the Nassau County finals. During his time in the Levittown School District, Andreoli played second base for MacArthur High School, where he scored 20 runs and 14 runs-batted-in [RBI’s]. He also posted a .346 batting average and a .429 on base percentage, adding seven doubles and three triples. Andreoli will attend LIU Post in the fall.
Varsity pitcher Adam Heidenfelder was selected as a First Team All-State player. He was also named Nassau County’s top pitcher, when he received the coveted Nassau County Baseball Coaches Association’s Diamond Award. Heidenfelder will attend Hofstra University in the fall.
Steven Schneider is a varsity wrestler who recently won the title of Nassau County wrestling champion for 2013. He also was designated twice as an All-County wrestler and acquired the title of 2013 New York State Finalist. Schneider will attend SUNY Binghamton next fall.
