School Donates To Island Harvest

harvestPort Washington’s Vincent Smith School held a food drive with items donated to Island Harvest for the holidays.

Spearheaded by the School’s Student Council and led by faculty advisors Jessica Pavlick and Laura Palme, the students strove with their classmates to help Long Island families have a good holiday season.

Student council members include President Greyson Thomas, Vice President Justin Salvowitz, Treasurer Joseph Keenan, Secretary Melanie Miranda, Bridget Vecchione, Derek Kane, Brian Siegel, Yusuf ZaffarUllah and Arielle Atias.

Student council members worked with Island Harvest on the Food Drive from October through December. Other school fundraising activities have included Toys for Tots, a Coat/Hat Drive and a Thanksgiving feast provided to INN (InterFaith Nutrition Network) in Hempstead.

Vincent Smith School is a private day school for students with learning disabilities in grades 4-12. The school offers an integrated program of studies for boys and girls, using a multi-sensory approach to learning. More information is available at website www.vincentsmithschool.org.
