Fork Lane Gets Heart Healthy

Fork Lane Elementary School students recently participated in a variety of physical activities in the school gym, keeping with the goal of being heart-healthy.

Fourth and fifth grade students eagerly tested themselves in an activity called “Hoops for the Heart,” where they grouped as teams in a fast-paced round robin basketball shootout during their gym periods. Students enjoyed music and healthy snacks provided by the school PTA.

First, second and thirdgraders participated in “Workout for the Heart.” This program featured 30 separate workout stations where students learned a broad spectrum of exercises designed to support a healthy heart and lifestyle.

As part of the program, students also helped raise funds for the American Heart Association.
