Letter: Finishing 2013 On A High Note

We had another amazing year: Ending strong with 172 members, a high attendance at all of our monthly events, awesome member involvement, and my dream of adding members to the parades becoming a reality. I couldn’t be happier.

We ended 2013 with a very successful holiday party at the Carlyle on the Green and a tree lighting ceremony at the Village Green. Our Dec. 19 networking at CaraCara Mexican Grill was very successful with over 40 people in attendance. These events always put me in the holiday mood.

We also participated in a lot of ribbon cuttings for many of the new businesses opening in Farmingdale.

One of our newest members is Debbie Korn from Welcome Wagon. Welcome Wagon was started in 1928 with the purpose of reaching out to new residents in a community to introduce them to local businesses. Through our relationship with Debbie, all of our chamber members will be included in an advertisement in their monthly ’gift book’ which is mailed to all new residents in Farmingdale.

Farmingdale Village invited us to participate in their first ever Winter Wonderland Expo at Village Hall on Feb. 26. All Chamber business members are invited to join to meet other business owners and members of the community. And don’t forget our annual Comedy

Night on Thursday, March 27. We have sold out every year, since we started, and it’s guaranteed to be a great night out. We also need sponsors and raffle gifts for the event. For more information, or if you can help, call Chris Wider at 516-752-1007 for details.
