February Luncheon Meeting

The next general meeting of the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be held at noon on Feb. 6, at CaraCara Mexican Grille, located at 354 Main Street. During the luncheon, the chamber will have special-guest speaker Joe Millizio to talk about New York State’s same-sex marriage law and how it effects us all. 

 

Junior Women’s Club

The Junior Women’s Club of Farmingdale will meet on Feb. 6, from 7:30-10:00 p.m. at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. 

 

All District Concert

Choral students in the Farmingdale Schools will perform in the All-District Chorus concert on Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., inside the high school auditorium. 

Friday, February 7

Young Man/Special Lady Dance

On Feb. 7, elementary school students are invited to participate in the Young Man/Special Lady Dance at 7 p.m., at the Saltzman East Memorial School, located at 25 Mill Lane. 

Sunday, February 9

Traditional Dragon Line Dancing

On Feb. 9, join the Farmingdale Breakfast Rotary from 4-8:00 p.m. as they bring in the Chinese New Year at the Lotus Garden, located at 345 Conklin Street. Admission is $45 per person, and covers appetizers, entrees, tea, soda and dessert. A Chinese Auction will also be held to celebrate the year of the horse. History of the Van Cott Cemetery

On Feb. 9, the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society will present a History of the Van Cott Cemetery at 2 p.m. at the Farmingdale Publi Library. The Van Cott ancestry dates back to 1662 and is documented a tthis small plot on the corner of Richard and Rose streets. The program is free and open to the public. The next public work session of the Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees will be held on Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Zoning Board of Appeals will be held on Feb. 13, at 8 p.m. inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

President’s Day

Village offices will be closed on Feb. 17, in observance of President’s Day.

Tax Grievance Day 

Farmingdale village will hold Tax Grievance Day on Feb. 18, from 5-9 p.m. for any residents looking to file a grievance on their property taxes.

After Hours Networking

The Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its next after-hours networking event on Feb. 19 at Cascarino’s, located at 302 Main St., from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Bring your business cards to be entered into a free raffle drawing. There is no cover charge to attend and non-members are welcome.

Fun Run

The Greater Long Island Running Club will be hosting a fun run on Feb. 23. The event will begin promptly at 9 a.m., behind the Runner’s Edge, located at 242 Main St. in Farmingdale.

The next meeting of the Farmingdale PTA Council will be held on Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Weldon E. Howitt Middle School, located at 70 Van Cott Ave.

The next meeting of the Village of Farmingdale Planning Board will be held on Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. inside Village Hall, located at 361 Main St.

Winter Wonderland Expo

On Feb. 27, the Village of Farmingdale and the Farmingdale Chamber of Commerce will throw the first-ever Winter Wonderland Expo at Village Hall, located at 361 Main St. The event will run from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and will include a Taste of Farmingdale, a meet and greet, a community open house for neighbors, merchants, friends and family. 

Saturday, March 1

Farmingdale HS Fashion Show 

The annual school fashion show will take place on March 1, at 6 p.m. inside Farmingdale High School. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. So come support this great event and watch our models (both students and faculty) strut their stuff on the runway.
