Ling Song of Floral Park High School recently received the Go APE Award from the Art League of Long Island.
Song’s pastels work, “Untitled,” was honored as one of the top 14 works in the Art League’s Advanced Placement Student Exhibition. Now in its seventh year, the program celebrates exceptional artwork of AP art students in Long Island high schools, as selected by their teachers.
Also taking part in the program and exhibiting were Floral Park students Ariel Bouderan, Lorraine Hickman and Mike Nelson.
Their works were exhibited in the Art League’s Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery in Dix Hills from Feb. 7 through 14, with a reception on the closing evening.
The 165 students participating in the exhibit represented 47 high schools.
