Chinese lanterns and dragons hung from the classroom walls and students donned masks as third graders at Abbey Lane Elementary School celebrated the Chinese New Year. For the past several weeks, the students have been studying the geography, government, culture, famous sites and history of China and have compared this newly acquired information with life in the United States. The students also studied what life as a child would be like in both countries.
As a culminating activity, class parents delivered Chinese food for all of the students to taste.
