A 47-year-old science teacher at Ward Melville High School in East Setauket has been arrested for allegedly sexually abused a female student younger than 17 years old last year, Suffolk County police said.
Stephen Malusa of Selden was charged Tuesday with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said an investigation revealed that he had abused a female student in May 2013.
Special Victims Section detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information is asked to call them at 631-852-6531 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
