More than 40,000 students from nine school districts participate in North Hempstead’s School Recycling Partnership Program, which reduces paper waste and teaches our children good stewardship of resources.
As a participant, Saddle Rock Elementary School weighs its recyclables collection every Thursday. On Thursday, March 6, over 150 pounds of paper and 50 pounds of plastic bottles had been gathered for recycling.
That day, North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth visited to join in the recycling effort. In an interactive session, she also spoke to the students about the Town’s role in the snow removal process.
