Chamber Adopt-A-Pole Program

adopt-a-poleThe Manhasset Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to help make Plandome Road more inviting for shoppers and residents by supporting the Chamber’s annual Adopt-a-Pole program. Now in its 15th year, the Adopt-a-Pole Program—under the leadership of Diane Harragan of Coach Realtors—partners with a local florist to ensure that beautiful, hardy flowers are planted in hanging baskets on the poles.

Alex Otis of Manhasset Florist will grow red and pink geraniums and plant them in the hanging baskets. These plants will be more drought resistant than last year’s flowers. The Chamber wishes to especially thank the Town of North Hempstead for agreeing to water the plants again this year; without that generous commitment, it would not be possible to have beautiful living plants on top of the poles and keep them thriving throughout the summer.

Residents, organizations, and merchants are cordially invited to participate in the 2014 Adopt-a-Pole program and obtain registration details on the Chamber website www.manhassetny.org or by sending a $100 payment per pole to MCC, P.O. Box 754, Manhasset. Plaques indicating the sponsor’s name and/or message are displayed on the poles so please include your message for your plaque along with your payment and please also provide your contact information. Sponsors will be acknowledged in the local papers as well as on the Chamber website., www.manhassetny.org

Besides advertising your business, other ideas for tributes include: purchasing one in the name of your family; in honor of a person; in memory of a person; joining with others to share the cost of one pole.

Questions may be directed to Diane Harragan at 627-0120.
