With hopes for plentiful spring crops from Green Vale’s organic garden, Lower School Student Council members sowed seeds in early March with council advisors Ms. Field and Mrs. Campbell.
The students mixed soil with water, filled their seeding trays and carefully tucked in tomato, lettuce, swiss chard, and spinach seeds. Mr. Walter Heggarty from Kaos Farms helped out and explained how the seedlings will be kept warm at Bailey Arboretum’s greenhouse and then transplanted to the school’s garden on Earth Day.
Seedlings will also be available for sale to Green Vale School garden enthusiasts to raise funds for the garden. — Green Vale School
