Roslyn Teachers Always Learning

roslynProfessional development is an ongoing process throughout the school year, as exemplified by two recent programs for faculty at Roslyn High School.

On Tuesday, March 25, teachers attended “PD Palooza,” a series of after-school workshops presented by their peers, on 10 different topics including the Common Core curriculum and a variety of different uses for technology in delivering instruction.

A few weeks earlier, teachers and administrators all participated in an Adventure Education workshop led by the school’s physical education faculty, who gave everyone a direct experience in the kind of team-building and fitness activities that students are encountering in this recently implemented program.

These professional development initiatives were coordinated by the high school’s Curriculum Development Council (CDC), whose mission is to continually enhance curriculum across all subject areas. The CDC is co-chaired by Assistant Principal Carol Murphy and English Department Chair Josh Cabat.
